FAQ
Are the workouts open to the general public?
Yes, Golden Spikes is an open program. Our policy is that you attend the workout for your appropriate age group unless you have otherwise received
approval.
How do I join a travel team?
Travel teams have revolving rosters which means we are always accepting applications for new players. We typically carry a roster of 11 - 13 players to each tournament. If there is room on the tournament roster, Golden Spikes Baseball will conduct try-outs. Players will be assessed on talent and ability, coachability, sportsmanship, commitment, availability and if needed, by position. If you are interested in joining a team, please complete the Player Interest form in the Contact Us section of the website.
What is the level of commitment expected by travel ball players?
Golden Spikes Baseball is a year round travel ball organization. The Summer, Fall and Winter quarters bring 2 tournaments a month, with weekly workouts and
weekly team practices. We scale down our program in the Spring quarter allowing our players to play rec league baseball. A typical Spring quarter will have 2
tournaments (Spring Break and Memorial Weekend), bi-weekly workouts and bi-weekly team practices.
What information do I need to provide if I am selected to play on a travel ball team?
Golden Spikes Baseball requires a fully executed waiver, a signed Commitment Letter as well as a copy of your child's birth certificate.
